Reimagining Retirement: Retiree Workforce Brunch March 16 at FVCC

Retirees and older adults interested in returning to the workforce are invited to a Reimagining Retirement brunch on Monday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC) in the Arts and Technology Building Room 139. This free event offers a relaxed way to explore flexible job options, connect with local employers, and learn about employment resources that support re‑entering the workforce.

Hosted by the Retiree Workforce Group, a partnership of Job Service Kalispell, My Glacier Village, FVCC, and Discover Kalispell Chamber through the WorkForce Flathead initiative, the brunch helps experienced workers explore opportunities that fit their time, skills, and interests.

“Whether you are looking for extra income, more social connections, or a new challenge, we want participants to leave feeling confident about their next steps,” said Jenn Prunty with My Glacier Village.

Attendees can meet local employers offering part-time or flexible roles and speak with resource partners about applications, resumes, and job search platforms.

“This event gives retirees a practical starting point to explore work options, meet employers, and get help with today’s hiring process,” said Jenn Cronk, Workforce and Special Initiatives Director for the Discover Kalispell Chamber. “It is designed to be approachable and informative for anyone considering returning to work.”

“More than 67% of Montanans aged 55 to 64 are working or actively seeking work, and there are others who have left the workforce who still have much to offer,” said Laura Gardner, Manager of Job Service Kalispell. “Connecting retirees with employers, mentorship opportunities, and volunteer roles is a key part of strengthening our workforce. Under the Governor’s 406 JOBS initiative, we are focused on reducing barriers to work and expanding opportunities for all Montanans, including skilled, experienced adults.”

The brunch is free, but space is limited. Advance registration is encouraged at https://myglacier.helpfulvillage.com/events/1693.
